I Love Techno, year 16! In recent years I Love Techno has been joined by several successful festivals and events attaching great importance to electronic music. I Love Techno, the pioneer, remains a major player in Europe. This year 35,000 party people from all over the world are expected once again. This year the major party for fans of electronic music, in all its aspects, will take place in Flanders Expo in Ghent (Belgium) on Saturday November 12. A few weeks ago the first names were already announced. It is with some pride that we present the complete line-up today. It is dubstep’s turn this year to get extra attention. Those who were present in 2010 will undoubtedly remember the gobsmacking sets of Magnetic Man and Caspa. In the meantime the genre has found its way completely from the underground scene to the mainstream. At I Love Techno 2011 the hottest techno and electro producers will also be there. Add a number of legends to the mix, a few tips for the future and the party in Ghent is ready to go! overview.

Congratulations, Riva Starr!
A big congratulations to Riva Starr for winning Best Breakthrough DJ at the Ibiza DJ Awards. The 13th Edition of the Awards was held at Pacha last Tuesday evening. Riva Starr aka Stefano Miele, fended off some seriously stiff competition from the likes of Dixon, Marcel Dettmann, Raresh and Seth Troxler. You can see all the winners here - www.djawards.com. I Love Techno is celebrating its 15th birthday! On Saturday November 13, it's time for a huge party at Flanders Expo in Ghent. With lots of musical friends and above all with 35,000 electronic music lovers, hailing from all corners of the world. I Love Techno is still keeping an eye on the past, the present and the future. Underworld are a living piece of techno and dance music history. Dave Clarke is mister I Love Techno. Underworld are guests of honour at the banquet. They played a crucial role in the break-through of techno music. The band will make an exclusive appearance at I Love Techno and present their excellent sixth album “Barking”, featuring top producers Mark Knight, High Contrast, Dubfire and Appleblim. Goose will also introduce their latest album. The long-awaited “Synrise” is out in October. Live première at I Love Techno!
I Love Techno has always had an eye for the past, present and future. Dave Clarke can under no circumstances be absent. He is Mister I Love Techno and he simply has to be there to celebrate the fifteenth birthday. This year, he is once again curating a hall. Also there: 3deck master Ben Sims and Robert Hood, the minimal techno godfather from Detroit. I Love Techno looks forward with Joker's ‘purple sound’, dubstep from Bristol. With Caspa, who, along with Rusko, is running the leading labels Dub Police and Subsoldiers. And with upcoming super star DJ Riva Starr and the nu disco/balearic beats of Villa.
Electro and related genres have secured a spot at I Love Techno as well. Boys Noize will do a DJ set. Just because he is awesome. Label mates Les Petits Pilous are coming as well. Also at the banquet: party animals Crookers. In Werchter people are still recovering from their set in the Pyramid Marquee. From the US: Steve Aoki and A-Trak. Aoki is coming to I Love Techno for the first time. The man behind the Dim Mak label (Mstrkrft, Bloody Beetroots...) had a remarkably infectious single this year: “I’m in The House” (featuring will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas). A-Trak received lots of attention thanks to the ‘Heads Will Roll” remix for Yeah Yeah Yeahs and his Duck Sauce project with Armand Van Helden. DJ Hell, a key figure of the electroclash movement of the mid 90s, is also someone to look forward to. And of course there is also a spot for Belgian talent at I Love Techno, like Highbloo, who recently released a remarkable EP on Lektroluv records.

TRAVELLING TO AND FROM I LOVE TECHNO
Flanders Expo is easy to reach day and night using the public transport system. Trams operated by De Lijn transport company will be there to ferry partygoers safely from Gent Sint-Pieter station to Flanders Expo and back. For those of you who still want to go to I Love Techno by car, a sufficient number of (free) parking places are provided around Flanders Expo.

Red Bull Elektropedia is joining the party. The winner of the Netlog DJ competition, Frères Deluxe, Laston & Geo, Compuphonic and Surfing Leon will be providing the dance excitement in the centre of Hall 1 where Red Bull Elektropedia will be in residence during I Love Techno. The giant screen there will be showing the best from the Red, Orange and Blue Room.
AND THE WINNER IS: DJ FORESTWALKER
Together with JIM Maniacs and – the godfather of techno - Dave Clarke, I Love Techno is pulling out all the stops in search of fresh talent. Jurgen Broekhoven aka DJ Forestwalker, from Tienen, had no trouble impressing both the jury and Dave Clarke. A new star is born. You can watch and experience him rocking the decks as the opening DJ in the Red Room.
