KANE haalt de Radio2 Top 2000
Dorien riep jullie vorige maand via onze websites nog op om KANE de lijst der stemmen - de Radio2 Top 2000 - in te stemmen et voila: they made it baby!!!! ‘Rain down on me’ staat voor de aller aller eerste keer in deze lijst mooi op nr. 908 te blinken en dat…dat is een goed gevoel!

KANE for the first time in the Radio2 Top 2000
Last month Dorien asked you guys on several of our websites to vote for KANE for the most prestigious list of them all, the Radio2 Top 2000. And booyah: they made it to the list! ‘Rain down on me’ is featured for the very first time in this list on number 908 and that feels pretty awesome!

classic rock 1000 - vote for KANE!
Vanaf aanstaande maandag kun je weer genieten van de enige rocklijst die er toe doet; de Classic Rock 1000 op CITY FM! Vorig jaar stond Led Zeppelin met ‘Stairway to Heaven’ bovenaan de lijst en KANE stond met 2 singles in de lijst en wel op nr. 791 met ‘rain down on me’ en op nr. 767 met ‘Where do I go now’. Natuurlijk staan Dinand & Co ook dit jaar weer in de keuzelijst met maar liefst 13(!) nummers. Klik op http://www.cityfm.nl/west/index.php?page=actie... en breng gauw je stem uit. Nacht van Donna’s Top 2000 - stem op KANE
In de nacht van vrijdag 7 op zaterdag 8 december tovert radio Donna de Vlaamse zender Eén 10 uur lang om tot een heuse clipzender.
In de aanloop naar Donna's Top 2000, die op zaterdag 8 december om 15.00 u begint, kunnen de luisteraars van Donna tussen middernacht en 10 uur hun favoriete videoclips bekijken op Eén. Daarvoor maken ze 'live on demand' hun keuze op http://217.19.231.156/apps/tops/top2000/stem/ of via Eén Teletekst pagina 295. De Nacht van Donna’s Top 2000 wordt gepresenteerd door de bekende Donna-gezichten. De DJ's van Donna worden dus voor één keer VJ's.
Iedereen kan zijn favoriete videoclip aanvragen. KANE staat twee maal in Donna’s keuzelijst met ‘Fearless’ en ‘Rain down on me’. Met wat geluk zijn deze twee clips s’nachts ook te zien in De Nacht van Donna's Top 2000...

KANE op Artquake?

In juni 2008 vindt de 10e editie van Artquake Open Air plaats. Om dit jubileum te vieren wil de organisatie "het beste van 10 jaar Artquake Open Air" nog een keer terug laten komen tijdens deze speciale editie van het festival. En jij kunt door je stem uit te brengen er wellicht voor zorgen dat jouw favoriet straks op het hoofdpodium staat.
In de 10 jaar die Artquake Open Air nu bestaat hebben artiesten als Anouk, KANE (zij stonden op de line-up van 2001 maar werden vervangen door Van Dik Hout omdat Dinand ziek was - Thnx Kim!), Krezip, Heideroosjes, Opgezwolle, Di-rect, Don Diablo, Brainpower, Michel de Hey, Leaf, Beef!, Intwine en The Opposites al eens op het programma gestaan. Tijdens de 10e editie zal een aantal van deze artiesten nogmaals terugkeren. Om tot een selectie te komen van "het beste van 10 jaar Artquake Open Air" roept de organisatie van het festival iedereen op, om te stemmen op zijn of haar favoriete act van de afgelopen 10 jaar.

Als je je tegelijkertijd aanmeldt voor de mailinglist, maak je ook nog eens kans op een Artquake Open Air goodiebag. Eind december wordt de uitslag bekendgemaakt op de site. De organisatie van Artquake Open Air gaat vervolgens proberen de vijf acts waarop het meest gestemd is, te programmeren voor Artquake Open Air 2008.

In june of next year the 10th edition of the Artquake Open Air festival will take place. Attention Dutch musicians!
Via de site van het Nationaal Pop Instituut lezen we:
Muzikantenmagazine Musicmaker wil er achter komen wat de honderd meest invloedrijke albums zijn voor de Nederlandse muzikanten. Wij als KANEpromoladies hopen dan dat een KANEalbum ooit inspiratie was voor beginnende bandjes/artiesten. De lijst zal in het decembernummer verschijnen en iedere muzikant kan meehelpen met het samenstellen.
Naast honderd bekende Nederlandse artiesten die door het blad zelf benaderd zullen worden, vraagt Musicmaker ook alle ándere muzikanten om hun Top 10 in te sturen. Zo wil Musicmaker in kaart brengen wat toch de platen zijn geweest die de vaderlandse popscene hebben gevormd tot wat ie nu is.
Voor de duidelijkheid: het gaat hier dus expliciet niet om ‘de mooiste albums’ die de muzikanten als luisteraar of muziekliefhebber zouden kiezen, maar om de albums die hen motiveerden om muzikant te worden, die hen deden besluiten om zelf in een band te gaan spelen, die hun muziekstijl bepaalden en die wellicht nog steeds een bron van inspiratie zijn.Misschien was dat ' As long as you want this' of 'Fearless'?
Muzikanten kunnen via http://www.musicmaker.nl/top100/ hun top 10 geven. Musicmakers Top 100 zal verschijnen in Musicmaker 12, die 20 december in de winkel ligt.

On the site of the Nationaal Pop Instituut we can read :
Dutch music magazine Musicmaker wants to find out which albums were the most influential for Dutch musicians. The KANEpromoladies hope one of the KANEalbum once was such an inspiration for young and upcoming bands/artists. The list will be featured in the December issue of the magazine and every musician has a say in the end result.
Beside one hundred famous Dutch artists who will be approached by the magazine, every other Dutch musician will be asked to send in his/her Top 10. By doing so Musicmaker want to create a demographic overview of those records which made Dutch pop scene what it is to this day.
To be clear: it’s not the ‘most beautiful records’ that’ll be chosen by the listeners or music lovers, but those albums that motivated them to become musician, that triggered them to start up their own band, influenced their musical style and are still on this day a source of inspiration to them. Maybe that was ' As long as you want this' or 'Fearless'?

Gisteravond zat er in RTL Boulevard een interview met Dennis en Dinand vanuit De Kuip. Ze gingen op een regenachtige middag de sfeer van een lege Kuip opsnuiven en riepen ook alle sexy meisjes en jongens op om 28 juni 2008 lekker te komen dansen met dat sexy bandje. Als dat maar goed komt…

Earlier this week Dennis and Dinand had an interview with the guys from RTL Boulevard. They decided to check out the venue for their summer gig: De Kuip. De Kuip was empty but yet clearly very impressive to both musicians. Dinand invited all sexy ladies and gentlemen for a dance to the tunes of his sexy band when they hit the stage in June. Seriously…we feel a riot coming on…

KANE kick-off New Years celebrations in Rotterdam
Dinand zei het gisteren al tijdens een interview in De Wereld Draait Door en vandaag geeft de site van het Haags Pop Podium wat meer informatie rondom de kick-off van het KANEjaar:
KANE geeft op 1 januari, direct na de jaarwisseling, een concert op een ponton in de Maas in Rotterdam. De Rotterdamse Nieuwjaarsnacht moet een evenement worden dat vergelijkbaar is met de grote feesten in steden als Sydney, Londen en New York waar duizenden mensen elkaar onder een hemel van vuurwerk een gelukkig nieuwjaar toewensen. De Erasmusbrug in Rotterdam vormt het decor van de Nederlandse variant hierop.
Op 31 december start om 21.00 uur het feest op de Wilhelminapier. Voor het feest zullen 15.000 kaarten worden verkocht. Direct na het vuurwerk om middernacht zal de Haagse band KANE optreden. De groep speelt dan voor het eerst de nieuwe single van het album dat in het voorjaar uitkomt. Behalve Kane treden nog enkele andere acts op. De definitieve line-up wordt komende vrijdag 16 november bekendgemaakt. Een dag later begint de kaartverkoop via www.nieuwjaarsnacht.nl - Tickets kosten 8 euro per stuk

Yesterday Dinand already mentioned something about it during an interview on the show De Wereld Draait Door and today we can read up on some more information about the KANE kick-off to 2008 on the site of the Haags Pop Podium :
KANE will perform on the 1st of January, immediately after the turn of the year, on a pontoon on the Maas river, Rotterdam. The Rotterdam New Years Eve celebrations will be comparable to the impressive festivities in Sydney, Londen and New York where thousands wish each other happy New Year under skies lit with fireworks. The Erasmusbrug in Rotterdam will be the decor for the Dutch public.
The party will kick off on the 31th of December at 21u00on the Wilhelminadock. There will be 15.000 tickets on sale for this event. Minutes after the New Years Eve fireworks KANE will perform it’s brand new single from the new album that’ll be released that year. Next to Kane other artists will perform. The full line-up will be revealed on Friday the 16th of November. The next day ticket sales for this event start on www.nieuwjaarsnacht.nl - Tickets will cost 8 euro each. -
